Texas Racing

No matter how much I love cars and Driving Fast, Street Racing is dangerous and ILLEGAL!  Street racing can either be spontaneous or well-planned and coordinated. Even coming from a small town I have seen some really elaborate, well thought out, extremely planned street racing events.   Street Racing Coordinators will use everything from a two way radio, cell phones, radars, police scanners, and GPS tracking devices.  Often times a pre-designated spot will be secretely passed from driver to driver til hundreds of people show up to an off beaten path in the hopes to race a few times and get away clean before the cops show up.  It is not worth it in my opinion.  It used to be a ticket for getting caught.  Now its fines, jail time, community service and your car being crushed in while you watch!!  Stick to the track and keep your ride.  Avoid street racing at all costs!  I know its hard, I get rev’d at all the time. I know my car is faster than the guy next to me and I just want to show him how slow he is…..but I grin and drive the speed limit.  Let me know your experiences with street racing.

San Antonio Raceway is located on IH-10 east exit 597:
San Antonio Raceway plays host once a month to the largest street legal racing event, Midnight Madness. Gates open at 8pm and you can race from 9pm till 2am in the morning.
$10 to watch and $15.00 to race.  Some of the events likely to happen are warrior classes, grudge races, battle of the sexes and a some exhibition passes. If you have never been it is alot of fun and you should really check it out…..This is your chance to race legally with a bunch of buddies….match up against who you want. Dont worry if your car is the fastest or not. Just go out there and race yourself.  Try and Improve your time each pass!

My name is Daniel.  I am 28, born and raised in Texas.  I have been into cars since I could drive and have always really enjoyed the import scene.  I have personally built my own car (honda) from its original stock 112 hp to 256 whp.  I know the scene gets alot of dirty looks from the american muscle, old school guys…..But I respect all cars.  I like both domestic and imports, if you car is fast, I dont care who made it……just take me for a ride!  I dont see how anyone cannot be impressed from the numbers being pushed from little 4 cylinder engines.  Im from a small town that has no track, yet the scene is big here.  As a result the street racing scene is big.   Street racing is dangerous and illegal for a reason.  I lost a friend in Highschool due to street racing, he was decapitated when he side swiped a telephone pole.   Im trying to find out all the hot spots in Texas and any experiences people may have had  in the process.

The Dirt track events hosted by Texas Motor Sports is one of the premier dirt track events in the Country.  Watch them race Texas during the Texas World Dirt Track Championship, which is due to take place in Febuary, at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track.   Starting the 26th of Febuary top dirt track drivers from all over the country will come here to race Texas in this 3-Day event.  That Thursday the 26th you can watch the modified,  limited modified and the oreilley SUPR late models hit the Track for practice.  Qualifying takes place Friday as drivers will compete in a spot for Saturdays main event.  Texas World Dirt Track Champion will be crowned Saturday Febuary 28th.   See you there!
